"Terrestrial Tender" is a collection of photos I took in Iceland during a summer study abroad course in 2015. For this project, which was exhibited in Oakland's College Avenue Galleries in February 2016, I paired these images with poems that explore the relationship between the island's ethereal geography, Icelandic folklore, and the concept of the Anthropocene.
Photos from Ashcroft, an abandoned mining town in Pitkin County, Colorado.
I'm incredibly fascinated by glaciers; they are breathtaking & magical earthly creations, and a vital natural resource for our planet. Included in this collection are close-up images of three distinct glaciers that I've explored: Perito Moreno Glacier--one of many glaciers fed by the massive Southern Patagonian Ice Field--located in Los Glaciares National Park, Argentina; Snæfellsjökull--a frozen stratovolcano that looks like a giant cloud of ice--on the Snæfellsnes peninsula in western Iceland; and Mýrdalsjökull--an ice cap coated with ash mounds that also rests upon a volcano--located in the south of Iceland near Vík í Mýrdal.
Various photographs of various plants in Colorado, California, Bolivia, and Chile.
Because of my infatuation with animals, I naturally have a ton of photos of them. Included in these images are cows & dogs from my time WWOOFing in the Lakes District of Chile, monkeys from the animal refuge I volunteered at in Bolivia, a stray pig strolling along the shores of Lake Titicaca, and, of course, my majestic Great Pyrenees/Australian Shepherd mix, Daisy.
A collection of photos taken while trekking the Torres del Paine Circuit Trek in Chilean Patagonia.
Images depicting the various wonders of water / salt. Shorelines, from my perspective, take on many forms: glacial lagoons, salt flats, black pebble beaches, waterfalls-- stretched across oceans, rivers, ice fields, and deserts around the world.
Taken in Colorado on 35mm.
